PELVIC FLOOR PHYSICAL THERAPY TREATMENT OPTION

  • Manual therapy to restore normal joint mechanics and soft tissue mobility.
  • Surface electromyography (sEMG) and biofeedback for evaluation, treatment, and home program.
  • Therapeutic exercises to restore muscle strength and coordination of the pelvic floor and the supporting muscles including the abdominals, back and hips.
  • Therapeutic modalities including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat and TENS.
  • Exercise prescription for home program to enhance clinic therapy sessions.

Dry Needling

Dry Needling is a form of therapy in which fine needles are inserted into myofascial trigger points (painful knots in muscles, tendons, ligaments or near nerves in order to stimulate a healing response in painful musculoskeletal conditions. Therapists in Tennessee that perform dry needling must meet the education guidelines established by the Tennessee Physical Therapy Act and demonstrate proficiency.
