Are You Suffering in Silence?
Many men and women have unique pelvic floor conditions that significantly impact their lives and don’t know where to turn. In many cases there is a solution.
WHAT IS THE PELVIC FLOOR AND PELVIC FLOOR DYSFUNCTION?
The pelvic floor is a group of muscles in the lower abdomen and pelvis that support the bladder, bowels and reproductive organs. These muscles contribute to bowel and bladder function, posture, hip and lower back stability, and sexual function. Pelvic Floor Dysfunction occurs when the muscles and connective tissue (ligaments) of the pelvic floor cannot coordinate function by being either too tight (hypertonic) or too loose (flaccid). This can lead to issues such as stress incontinence (leaking urine especially when coughing, sneezing, laughing, squatting or running), urgency resulting in frequent urination and/or failing to reach the toilet in time, constipation or difficulty urinating, discomfort with sexual activities, passing gas consistently from vagina or anus when bending forward, reduced sensation or hypersensitivity around the vagina and can also cause pelvic floor pain.
